“Excuse me” Henry apologized and went to go answer it, “Mr. Sturges?” a man asked, not hearing Henry you assumed he nodded, “A letter for you”
“Thank you”
Henry walked back, humming, reading the letter he’d gotten. He read it twice and then looked up, and over to you.
“Well it seems you get to go back home” Henry said with a bit of disappointment in his tone.
“What do you mean?”
“Well I’ve just received some…” he paused, thinking for the right word, “news, that’s important to a friend of mine. More so, private matters. But you are welcomed to come along, unless you wish to stay here and rest”
“Of course! Oh well… I mean if I’m not a burden to you” you said bashfully.
Henry just gave a small smile, even if you had said ‘No’ he would have convinced you to come along. He wouldn’t leave you by yourself.
“Well come on. If we leave now we’ll get there by tomorrow afternoon” he walked out, and took some sunglasses of the table by the door, you fallowed behind him.
Once you got outside, you saw Henry bringing over two horses ready to mount. You looked between him and the horse nervously.
“What’s wrong?” he asked slightly exasperated.
“Well, it’s just that I’ve never… ridden a horse” you said timidly.
Henry sighed and grabbed your arm, and brought you over to one of the horses, “Um… HenRY!” he picked you up by the waist and placed you on the saddle. He gave you a ‘now was that so hard?’ look. You ignored him.
“I need to go get some supplies from the kitchen. I’ll be right back”
You nodded and waited on the horse, since you couldn’t really go anywhere. After a minute or two Henry still wasn’t back, you began to hum to yourself; you heard a branch snap and quickly turned your head. There was nothing there; you kept humming trying to calm down. You heard some footsteps and slowly moved your hand to your boot to get out the pocket knife. Hearing the raged breathe of someone you turned rapidly, screaming and holding the knife above your head ready to strike.
“I didn’t mean to scare you ma’am” He smiled at you; he had a southern accent, and was wearing a top hat and glasses like the ones Henry had, but his had a leather patch covering the one on the right side. You didn’t like him, he seemed… off. Just something that made you uncomfortable. You lowered the knife but didn’t put it away. He held out a hand, you eyed him suspiciously.
“I’m an old friend of Henry’s. Jack Barts” he smiled again, making you uncomfortable. But you didn’t know why Henry would be friends with a man like him, but then again you hardly know Henry. Not wanting to be rude you went to shake the man’s hand but stopped.
“GET AWAY FROM HER” both of you turned to see Henry running toward the both of you, you blinked and he was right in front of you. He grabbed Barts by the shoulders and threw him into a tree causing it to break. You were left awe struck but Henry brought you back to your senses as he jumped onto the horse, sitting behind you.
“Here!” he yelled a dropped two bags in your hands. “We need to get out of here!” Henry dug his heal into the back of the horse causing it to run forward.
“You can’t escape Henry!” you heard Barts yell and turned to see him running between the trees, not far from the two of you.
“Henry!” you warned.
“I know [name]!” he was angry, but mostly at himself, how could he be so careless. “Open the bag, there’s a seven round pistol; if he gets near us shoot!”
Barts jumped from the tree and grabbed onto Henry’s leg. As he tried to pull Henry off the horse he yelled at you, “SHOOT HIM” you tried shooting Barts but he dodged the bullets. He opened his mouth and showed glossy white fangs with veins popping on the side of his face. You started in shock and remembering the night Henry saved you.
“[NAME]!” Henry yelled to get you back to reality.
You kicked Barts in the face, but his teeth got hold of your boot, you tried kicking him again. He lost his grip and hit the ground in a violent roll, your boot along with him. As you and Henry rode of you heard Barts yell “Adam will LOVE to have her for dinner Henry!”
“Thank you”

"She'll come back," he mused. "She won't last a week on her own."

“Cullen…”
“Inquisitor-“ A sigh. “(Name). You cannot seriously believe this to be a good idea.”
“I don’t see why not. It isn’t as though I stole him.”
“No, but considering what he is I should hardly think that matters. And how do you even know it’s a he?”
“I took him to Dagna since she demanded to see him anyway.”
“That dwarf is going to get you killed one day, I swear…”
“She’s not that bad, Cullen.”
“But she-… We’re getting off the subject. Why did you think it was a goo
